This wedding venue was truly beautiful.. and we fell in love with all of the staff. They are all so attentive and responsive..! i would highly recommend holding both your ceremony and reception here!

We had both our ceremony and reception at Springwood. It is a lovely venue and the staff was wonderful to work with. The food was delicious. Everything ran smoothly.

I couldn't have imagined my wedding & reception anywhere else. The staff was awesome to work with and our guests are still talking about our day!

I looked at this venue for my wedding and decided against it. Every wedding website that I researched for Pittsburgh weddings had bad reviews about this venue and its owners. When I brought it up at my meeting with them - she seemed surprised. I told her to do herself a favor and look online. Apparently they could care less. They aren't accommodating at all - they are WAY overpriced and they have an attitude. Run -- don't walk -- away from this place.

I was extremely disappointed with Springwood when it came to my wedding day. Wanda, her husband, and Janet were all extremely rude to my family. At the end of the night Janet rudely snapped at my parents when they asked her a question. They misplaced several of my decorations, toss bouquet and all. The thing that made me fall in love with Springwood in the first place was their organization about how they described everything flowing so perfectly. This was the biggest upset because this never happened. I had to continuously organize and direct people on my wedding day which was suppose to be a day for me to enjoy and finally relax from all of the hard work and planning I did was impossible. Example: when it came to introducing the entire wedding party I had to run around and locate all of the wedding party instead of the actual wedding coordinators doing that. For the outrageous amount they charge to hold a wedding here they do not do a good job nor do they deliver on their promises. Overall HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Springwood was a wonderful, sophisticated venue for our wedding. All of my guests said how elegant and exquisite it was. The staff did an absolutely amazing job and were very accommodating to all requests! We had the most perfect wedding!

The venue was amazing but it is super expensive for the small amount of time you get. The staff was wonderful except for Wanda. She was not easy going and always seemed miserable.

Springwood did an amazing job! The grounds are beautiful. We had great weather over Easter weekend, which allowed us to take pictures outside. The staff were professional and courteous, despite a few hiccups along the way. The chef made great meals. I would highly recommend this venue.

My now-husband and I visited Springwood Manor in Pittsburgh while venue-hunting, and while we could not make Springwood work, the grounds would have made a lovely place for a ceremony.
The employees were friendly, the atrium was stunning, and the rich detail of the interior was worth the visit.

I wish I would have taken the reviews I read on this venue more seriously before we booked them. I thought, "there is no way that would happen to us!" and it all did. We were left with a bitter taste in our mouths after our Springwood reception. The reason I say this is an unfortunate combination is because of how absolutely gorgeous the venue is compared to the overall experience. It was exactly what we wanted and we couldn't find that setting anywhere else in the area. Also, the food was really good! (That is where my two stars come from) Other than that, we were very disappointed overall. It makes me upset to know that our one and only wedding day was not treated as exactly that. I could write the longest review about all of the alarming details leading up to our day and even ON our day that were way under par, however, I think it is most important for a considering couple to know you will pay a lot of money for below average service through the entire process. You will never feel heard in the end. It is really a shame. It was extremely hard to contact the event coordinators even up to weeks before our wedding. Details we discussed over and over were not honored when the day came, our outside vendors were treated badly, and we paid beyond our budget for what we thought would be our "dream wedding" at Springwood. I think I was most hurt that we STILL have not heard from them months after our wedding to write a review or to see how everything went for us when every other vendor has asked us to review their services. I was able to award 5 stars to every other vendor we worked with and couldn't have been happier with the other companies we hired! I think this additional lack of post-communication to improve as a company is unprofessional and is another tell-tale sign of the quality of their services. I hate to write a negative review- I am normally not that kind of person, however, if our experience can be of any help to future couples considering this venue, wonderful. I just want to use our experience as a way to warn others of what you will receive. I wish I could say otherwise, but I would definitely NOT recommend this venue to anyone I know, despite its beauty.

This venue was amazingly beautiful. However, it was hard to get ahold of the "wedding planners". They keep strange hours and are not very good about returning phone calls. They do not take credit card, and they don't use email. They like everything to be their way and unless you are paying attention day of, you might not get everything that you asked for.

Perfect location, beautiful grounds, everything we ever dreamed of!

The staff was absolutely amazing! The FOB, SMOB, Flower Girl, Ring Bearer and grandmother showed up literally minutes before I walked down the aisle. They immediately postponed the start of the ceremony, one of the staffers escorted the FOB and RB upstairs and helped them with their suit vests, ties, and jackets. Another realized that my grandmother is handicapped and put her into a golf cart and drove her around to the ceremony site. Unfortunately, due to the delay we didn't have much time for pictures and they were rushing us off the property before we finished getting the few shots i knew i wanted. If you only book your ceremony with them, they will book another wedding that day and you will only have 2 hours.

Great value and better than I asked for! Was able to come through with last minute cake flowers too! Sweet lady!

Pros: accomodating staff, beautiful facilities, multiple options for both the ceremony and reception, built in wedding planner, on site florist and caterer, great on site photo locations, always something--usually involving food-- to keep the guests occupied which is invaluable during professional pictures
Cons: expensive, difficult to get in contact with point person, must use their caterer--also expensive, some areas of site may be treacherous for the elderly--especially at night--(though facility is handicap accessible), drive to the location is no ideal

I can't say enough good things about Springwood!!! My husband and I just got married there on June 11th and it was the most amazing day of our lives. Many thanks go out to Wanda, the coordinator, and Joan, the florist for being so accommodating and wonderful :)

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony (not reception) at Springwood this year (2010). It is an absolutely gorgeous place! Loved its rustic appearance, the stone manor, the natural gardens, etc.! Springwood is beautiful and offers options for different natural settings (gazebo, pergola, etc.) Our ceremony went off without a hitch and everything was timely and well-coordinated by the staff. Our only (but major) complaint was that Springwood's staff definitely had communication issues prior to the wedding and their were many rigid time restrictions (only had 2 hours for getting dressed, having the ceremony, and then pictures!)even though there werent any events scheduled before or after our event that day. The extra fees were outrageous in our opinion! Springwood is beautiful and the staff ended up doing a fantastic job but make sure you check on all fees, send the staff reminders, and check/recheck on the contract details and fine print.

We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at Springwood and it was perfect. An all natural outdoor setting didn't need many decorations and all of the guest loved not having to drive to multiple locations!

Small & intimate feeling of a manor home(not a banquet hall) but large enough to hold all of our guests comfortably. Staff handled everything the day of the wedding! Brand new dance floor.;EVERYTHING they offer to you for the day of your wedding costs extra and is expensive! The prices they list for their price per head catering does not include beef. Their in-house microphone system is very poor.
